That actually _is_ correct behavior, as incoming mail addressed to
user@xxxxxxxxxx gets rewritten internally by the sendmail rules to be
user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (or user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx if the host != www). Then
user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is mapped to a local username, and eventually
delivered to the incoming mail spool for that user/forwarded/etc...
