One thing, though it shouldn't matter here; if your username is mike
then you don't need, and shouldn't have, an alias for mike.

If secure pop3 (apop) is turned on, then your mail client MUST support
it for receipt of mail by pop3, but it shouldn't matter for local mail.

My mistake <frown>... please do:

# ls -al /home/spool/mail/mike

and let us see the results.

Also:

ls -al /var/spool/mail/mike

and let us see the results.
