do they use a proxy?
is it browser-dependent?
does "telnet <www.sitename.com> 80" with "GET / <CR>" give any answer?

As long as you didn't install a firewall or change hosts.allow or hosts.deny there should be no worry. 
Do you see their attempts in your logfile?
