[cobalt-users] Help, I'm confused

sorry if this is well obvious but i've got in a mess and i'm very confused.

i have a virtual site <nightshift.oxfordmusic.net>. it's on the second IP
address on my Raq4. yesterday the email on it stopped working. i've tried
every possible combination of MX record and email server alias but the mail
keeps bouncing back with this error:
553 5.3.5 nightshift.oxfordmusic.net. config error: mail loops back to me
(MX problem?)
554 5.3.5 <test@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>... Local configuration error

at the moment i have:
mail.nightshift.oxfordmusic.net. in a 212.67.208.78
nightshift in mx 30 mail.nightshift.oxfordmusic.net

in my DNS and nightshift as the email server alias.
the only thing i've done since it was working is get rid of a Formmail
script and replace it with an ASP script, and install Portsentry.

advice please.
