Thanks for pointing out my omission, Gerald. Yes, something else you
need to do is on the box you're using for backup MX, is change the
default from 4 days maximum to some larger number, unless you're sure
the email will in fact be deliverable within four days.
While I don't remember the details for doing that, I'm sure they can be
found at <http://www.sendmail.org/>.
