Not sure about the RAQ2 specifically, but we do this for several domains 
(split mail/web).

  You will need either an A record or a CNAME in DNS for the www (web) and 
one for the "mail" and/or smtp.

  Remove the web settings from the Cobalt but leave the mail settings - EG: 
no Web Server aliases and it should work.

  Key factor is that DNS (yours or whoever does DNS for this domain) is 
"correct" as to which IP it gives out for which service (web/mail).
