[cobalt-users] RE: Setting Time

Hi Yah,

Jeff commented:-

...You need to set the Region, Country and Locale/Zone to what you want the server to show; not to where it's actually located. Of course, Gerald's point that it may then not work is well-taken; let us know if you can do the above and get it to work.

Checked the GUI shows the correct time and zone that I want not the time/zone where the server is collocated - perfect :)

Jump into Webmin and check the time there and the system time is correct as per GUI but the "hardware" time is 6 hours behind ? Even after sync with system time it still stays 6 hours behind. Logcheck which came through on the hour every hour prior to time change has stopped working from cron.hourly though if run manually it works and all the time stamps are showing the correct time on the logs.

Now my problem is another 16 hours before all the cron.dailys and logrotate does its thing - or not. As per last email how can one check if cron is working correctly and will ensure that all the services etcetera kick in as before.

Regards
