FWIW, you might want to look into something I found. I'm not sure what it's
limitations are at this point, as I've just installed it and started playing
with it on my Raq2. It's a PHP/MySQL CRM application called Relatamail.

One caveat, it requires PHP installed as a CGI to do the email blasts.
