Thanks, but that is a solution to the wrong problem. I have no problem
getting to the server. The problem is that there are multiple domains at a
single IP address. Going to that IP address...before the DNS servers point
the NEW domain to that IP will bring up one of the older domains already at
that IP address.
Actually, Steve, it's a common problem that we've all been through. Unless someone has a magical fix, you will NEVER be able to browse to a virtual domain which shares an IP with other domains (unless it's the primary for that IP). The only solutions I have been able to come up with are:
1. Assign an unused IP to the domain while you are testing. I always keep a couple in reserve for this purpose. Switch over to the actual IP before the name records propagate.
2. Configure your machine to point to your DNS server FIRST (instead of your ISP's). This is not a good solution for your clients, however, and of course you won't be able to tell when the actual DNS entry has propagated. It will allow you to browse to the site for testing purposes.
