Hi all,
I've recently moved my server, changed its name and IPs, and modified all
the DNS. Things are not totally working yet...waiting for DNS, so please
copy any replies you may have to dlbrake@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx I'm not receiving
list mail since my list registered e-mail is down with the rest of my machine.
Most is working now...the new nameserver exists and is operational.
Websites are visible because of the apache redirect I've set up. The
machine is recognizing its new range of IPs, but sendmail is sending me
error message through the logsentry program.
I don't know if these errors will clear once DNS is fully propagated, but
if these messages are actually an indication that something is wrong, I
would like to fix it now.
LogSentry sends me this:
Apr 28 13:01:01 ns1 sendmail[21217]: gethostbyaddr(209.208.33.193) failed: 1
and those lines continue through the whole range of IPs.
The base name of this machine is ns1.crestcommunication.com (this works
and is visible on the net)
the machine's IP is 209.208.81.157
Is there anything I can /should do to make sendmail happy?
I've already checked to see that relaying for all the machine's IPs and
domains is properly set, and it appears to be.
thanks so much for any help.
