RE: [cobalt-users] Hitler

but that gets tiresome after awhile. everybody thinks they're so much more
intelligent than each other.. and it gets very tiresome. sometimes i just
feel like getting down to the basics.. ie "get over it".

just gets frustrating seeing people arguing about petty things over and over
again. and the arguments turn into a fight to see who can out-wit the other
person. im 19. u guys are all so much more experienced and educated etc...
but i can see most of the arguments are based on yourselves. "i am better
than you" kind of attitude.

i just felt like sorta taking a break and getting you to step out and take a
look at how petty and stupid it all is. getting so uptight about it. i've
been on the list since last september.. which isnt a long time
comparitively.. and if theres an OT post i just skip it.. why should i waste
my time ( something which people argue about..) reading it and then
complaining about how they wasted my time reading this OT post. and moreover
writing above or below text or removing text etc etc... geeze. i talked to
my sister, of whome knows NOTHING about computers and is more in touch with
reality than i (as a computer geek) is.. and she seems to think we're a
bunch of computer geek nerds with a serious problem. and i look at us and
think. yes! why get sooooo upset at such a trivial thing??!?

we are humans.. lets act like it. not everything is so professional and by
the book. it shouldnt take a 9/11 event to make us realise we're all
brothers and sisters in the world. easier to be kind than unkind.... but
sometimes you just want to explode.. like i did. :)

i feel the people on the list are frustrated and it makes me frustrated.
i've never seen such bickering and such a feeling of competition and
bitterness. whats the go?

My suggestion is this, either participate in the list or don't, but don't
get upset when you are reminded of list policy. Is this list a little more
'particular' about how things are done than other lists? Yes, that's just
the way it is. Too many times there are postings that are either redundant
or irrelevant to the list, if everyone would read the rules and the archives
(as painful as that is) the list would be a better place.

Having said that, I might also suggest that those who 'moderate' the list
might be a little more humane when they identify an offender. Sometimes we
lose the human touch when when staring at a screen all day and forget that
there are people at the other end that are more sensitive to comments than
others. "Use soft words and hard arguments".
