RE: [cobalt-users] dns change

I did this recently from a NT machine to a raq4. Then I changed my DNS
from a Qube 2 to that same raq4. So, my method should be similar.
First, I made all the sites' web space through the GUI then FTP'd all
the data. This takes time. After I was done I simultaneously switched
the IP addresses and names for the Qube and raq4 to avoid registration
complications. In your case of 200 sites I would try sharing single IP
addresses when moving them to the new machine and then once its done;
delete everything from the old box and give those addresses to the new
ones as needed.
This is one method. Perhaps others would be more efficient.

Subject: [cobalt-users] dns change

Hello,

I have to move more than two hundred virtual sites from one cobalt raq3
server to a cobalt raq4.

The problem is that in on another server i have my primary dns

assume that the old server is xxx.xxx.xxx.44 Ip adress
the new one is xxx.xxx.xxx.202 Ip adress
How can i make the change of all dns entries on my primary dns server.
Does i have to telnet a file and change .44 by .202 with a tex editor
then upload a file. But i don't know if dns entries are only in one file
or more than one. idon't knw more what is the name and the place of this
file.

I hope that i won't have to change dns entries domain by domin through
the caobla administrator panel. Thanks for you help.

I'm french, sorry for my english and for the poor image we gave to the
world last week-end. regards Robert MONTORI
