I've not done a load of one sytem onto old hardware like you've done,
but just as a baseline my Raq3i's report similar errors from time to
time. The ones that I DO get are:
> eth0: Invalid EEPROM checksum 0x40ab, check settings before
> activating this device!
And the
> Shutting down NFS lockd: ERROR!
> Shutting down NFS statd: ERROR!
Errors (although all of these happen only at boot-up time)
After that I rarely get another message out the serial console.
I suspect it may be due to the slightly differing age of the hardware
that's causing these problems, or indeed a possible hard-drive problem
about to surface.
Have you fsck'd manually?? Just to find out what it reports and let you
choose how to repair.

Andy
