After a while hosting the "Official Unofficial Qube-users list" I'm
willing to set up a mailman server and a whole bunch of "Official
Unofficial Sun/Cobalt" lists.

The last time I suggested I do it, or perhaps an "Official Unofficial
Sun/Cobalt Support Forum", support for my suggestion/offer was
underwhelming, to say the least.

Should I???

Have you checked whois to see who owns "interestingtimes.org" <smile>? 
Years ago i wrote a magazine column titled "Interesting Times".  From
the old Chinese curse, of course... "May you live in interesting times."
