RE: [cobalt-users] RAQ4 PHP 4.0.6 am I safe ?

Peter,

If you're using it just for yourself... Only enable it on one site.. and
password protect it with .htaccess. Easy Peasy. I'm a newbie too, I bought a
RaQ last september knowing nothing about hosting or linux etc. I simply wait
until the packages have been out and properly tested before installing them.
The PHP 4.1.2 is fine. No problems at all.

Ciao

Kai.

Subject: [cobalt-users] RAQ4 PHP 4.0.6 am I safe ?

I want to enable PHP on my RAQ4 to start learning it,
I have not upgraded to version 4.1.2, my RAQ is a
stock configuration of only the cobalt patches.
Am I going to open my self up to serious
vulnerabilities if I stick with 4.0.6 ?
I am a bit chicken about the pkgmater updates being a
newbie, I've only used the ssh package.
Thanks
Peter
