All their commercial "ValueApps" are 30-day trial versions. Other stuff
(PostgreSQL, etc) is free though... as it is on our servers
(pre-installed no less!) A lot of their apps are Java applets, etc...

Yeah, but a 900MHz Celeron? It _is_ faster than the AMD 450MHz in the
RaQ4, I'll give you that. But for a "cutting edge" brand new server to
come out with a 900MHz Celeron? The only way to offset the expense of
Sphera (an outsourced UI, not in-house controlled) I guess... :)
All I can say is continue to be patient, and I'll bet you will hear
_something_ from Sun within a month... and it's probably better than a
900MHz Celeron and 1.5GB of RAM... :)
