[cobalt-users] Re: cobalt-users digest, Vol 1 #4308 - 15 msgs

Crucial was one of three places I tried for XTR RAM. The recommended RAM
from Crucial for me (512 modules) was:

http://www.crucial.com/store/PartSpecs.asp?imodule=CT64M72S4D75

Which look almost identical to your URL - the DIMMs didn't work - I wouldn't
risk it.

The Cobalt XTR FAQ says:

What type of RAM does the Sun Cobalt RaQ XTR server appliance use?
The memory type is PC-133, 168-pin, 3.3V, ECC SDRAM DIMM. The DIMM modules
have to be less than 0.158 inches (4.0 mm) thick. Contact Cobalt Technical
Support to receive a listing of approved memory vendors and the appropriate
part numbers.

I am not a memory expert on the XTR. The above plus what I previously posted
is all the info I have. The previous post saying the memory must be
registered is news to me, as there is documentation on this on the SunCobalt
site, but it might explain why nothing I have tried works. Calling SunCobalt
and getting specifics as stated above is probably the best solution.
