I had two clients call me today to tell me that PHP no longer worked after
installing the new Cobalt PKG. Until some point today, the PKG didn't even
mention that it simply upgraded PHP 4.0.6. It didn't mention a version
period. <sigh> Both of my clients effectively overwrote 4.1.2 installs I
did several weeks ago. In any case, if you install the PKG and have
problems, you can always uninstall the relevant RPMs, then install from the
Sun Cobalt RPMs on their FTP site, the pkgmaster.com PHP PKG, PHP from
source, etc. To find the RPMs to uninstall execute the following command:
rpm -qa | grep -i php
Then for each of the RPMs in the list that's returned execute:
rpm -e <rpm_name>
Then re-install PHP.
