RE: [cobalt-users] Raq4R & Apache Update 1.0.1

Thanks.. for the input and suggestions.

Fortunately this is not a production server but one that we use expressly
for testing patches prior to installing on our two production servers.
Unfortunately do to all the problems with the various Cobalt patches we've
felt it necessary to resort to a dedicated server to test patches before
trusting them on production units.

FYI - We've been down the O/S restore path a few times now with various
Raq's & Qube's so that aspect isn't tough to deal with other than all the
time that is required to apply all the patches.

Does anyone know if there is a latest & greatest O/S restore ISO image out
that includes say all of the patches through January 2002 or later? If so
please point me at where to download it.

Thanks again..

Jerry

You might want to keep the following post by Bruce T handy. The bulk of it
covers restoring from the OS restore CD (which you may need to do) and the
last paragraph mentions connecting with a null modem cable. If you connect
via null modem you may get output that's useful.

Probably so. I forgot to mention that you could remove the drive from the
server, drop it in a Linux desktop and run some checks on it. It's even
possible you could mount it in a desktop, grab the Apache RPMs from the
Cobalt FTP site and install them. Though without access to the box to
troubleshoot I'm just speculating potential problems/fixes based on my
experience (been administering RaQs internally and for clients for 3 years).

Good luck. Let us know how it turns.
