I gotta agree. I have an HP LXr 8500 running (not in my bedroom, although I
wish!) and it's 3 redundant power supplies, plus the six extra cabinet fans
make the thing sound like a Caterpillar tractor. PLUS this thing is one huge
space heater, the 8 CPU's and 16GB of RAM p.l.u.s. the external drive array
(with it's own 2 fans) with 12 drives push out an e.n.o.r.m.o.u.s. amount of
heat, gawd, it's amazing. (Good box to have in your office in the winter
when the heat craps out!!!) Noisy RAQ's? Umm, yes perhaps if it's in your
bedroom and the stereo/TV/whatever is off 'an you're trying to sleep maybe.
Otherwise, naaw, I gotta weigh in on the "NOT" side!
<laughter>
