Trying to track down a problem with e-mail sent to user accounts on our XTR.
Users using Outlook or Outlook Express have no problem sending mail through
the server, but they cannot access their IMAP folders on the server. Decoded
the error msg spawned by Outlook Express, says it is a socket or port
problem with the IMAP port 143. Telnet to the port shows it is open for
business.
I was unable to duplicate the problem when accessing from our workplace
network, but was able to duplicate it by using a dial-up connection to a
private ISP.
Why can users send mail from Outlook through the server but not receive
mail?
