Sorry for latent response. When busy, mailing lists are the
first thing I give up. :-)
And Cogent charges three times as much if one is a reseller, is
only in a few buildings, requires in/out traffic balance (they
need help securing peering relationships!), presumably loses big
money on transit...
Sorry, I've said all along that I just don't see Cogent being
able to deliver what they promise. The peering/transit just
won't pan out. I've seen nothing to improve their odds.
I don't know what happened to 4006 when Cogent borged them, but
I can't imagine it helping enough -- and, considering that much
of their clue (such as Dan Golding) are no longer there, who
knows how their routing is now.
100 Mbps to nowhere... anybody with firsthand experience to the
contrary feel free to correct me.
