[cobalt-users] [Raq4] low memory everyday. A logs rotation trouble you can't solve?

We have a Raq4 running smoothly for more than a year,
all patches installed, 512 MB RAM. No particular
software except Sane's NetTracker (and this is not the
responsible).

Everyday, at the same hour, the server freezes: we got
the low memory message by e-mail, the FTP stop working
for some minutes,
then the sites are offline for few minutes. Then the
server works again and the memory is lightly used during
all the day.

Reading previous postings about this item in newsgorups,
we found out that this trouble is related to a too large
logs file rotation. In fact we made a test running a
split logs manually by telnet and this problem
disappeared for some days.

It seems that this could be a general bug of Cobalt
software (or perhaps of Apache) and I suppose that
everybody could face it if you're going to have
succesful traffic to your sites. Did you have
experiences to share? Suggestions are gladly welcome.
