Unless you explicitly configured your MySQL install to run on a different
port, only one of the MySQL installs should be running. I would uninstall
the old MySQL using the uninstall script for the PKG if it came with one or
by issuing an rpm -e. rpm -qa | grep -i mysql to find the rpm(s). If you
installed your MySQL in /home/mysql there shouldn't be any file conflicts
between the two so this is safe.
