Apples and oranges. You can hide a PDC server behind a firewall completely.
You can "HIDE" any computer behind a firewall completely... what is your point?
I guarantee you'd be hacked running IIS as a public web server had you not
applied patches for 8 months.
Check out http://www.netpacq.com as it is a public IIS server and has been
up for going on 2 months now with out being hacked?!
