RE: [cobalt-users] {SPAM?} Mailscanner has gone mad and keeps inserting {SPAM}



My IP of the server is listed in 2 databases both of which belong to the same people, but no others. I am running Sendmail 8.10.2 which as I understand it has relaying off as default on top of that I just contacted the people I got the box from and they ran a check and said that

you were not running SMTP service (I could not connect to the smtp port.)

The only thing I can think of is the fact I have only had the server for around 5 weeks, perhaps it's a problem with the previous owner.

It has nothing to do with pop before smtp, something about your own
machine is tripping it, usually that means you got your own IP address
listed somewhere, it's a bad sign that your ISP is listed , yeash

look at the email headers for your message, i should have more detail in
there about the {spam} flags

There is also a way to whitelist your own IP address, but you ought to
figure out why it's doing it first...
