I assume you mean so you can point two nameservers to a single machine.
Since you're only running a single nameserver, all you're accomplishing is
leading your registrar and machines querying DNS to believe you have two
authoritative nameservers.  Of course, since they're on the same machine, if
one is down so is the other which defeats the whole purpose of having two or
more authoritative nameservers for each of your domains.  Having two
authoritative nameservers on the same network is a step up, but the best
solution is to have two or more nameservers on separate networks.  It may
seem unimportant if you have just one box, but it's better for services
querying your DNS to reach a nameserver and find that your domain exists,
but is temporarily inaccessible than it is for services to think the domain
just doesn't exist.  So for benefit of the original poster, you only need
one IP per box and having a second IP doesn't allow you to host more sites.
