It would be nice to see LESS Cobalt vs PC in this forum! Just like
the DVD vs Laser Disc argument, it's useless.
18 months ago I hardly did any php/mysql sites, nowadays I hardly do a site
that doesn't use them, 450 mhz cpu with limited RAM just doesn't cut it any
more, and it isn't like cobalt make a product that does cut it, or will make
an affordable one that does in the future...
Sounds like you need to lighten up on the PHP! ;-)
But seriously, not everyone uses PHP/SQL, and for those that do not,
the Cabalt server is perfect for a simple user to take command of
their own site.
latest cobalt php pkg official is something like 4.03, lots of customers
requiring 4.1.x, where is the cobalt pkg?
http://pkgmaster.com/packages/raq/4/#php
bought my first cobalt just over a year ago, now I am looking at selling the
bluw boxes and replacing them with properly specified stuff.
Properly specified "stuff"? Sounds technical ;-)
cobalt is no longer an option if I intend to stay in business and be
competitive enough to survive.
Like I said before, if you want to stay competitive than offer a
variety of platforms...I see no reason why not to.
