I had no problem with this until today.
Customers complained that sending mail to optushome.com.au failed
and gave an error like: "Relaying denied. IP name lookup failed."
I saw that and thought it was because that mail server likes to
reverse lookup ip's. So I added a ptr record and set up the
in-arpa zone file etc. Restarted DNS. Then a DIFERENT error occured:
"Relaying Denied. IP name possibly forged."
Same as below. Oh well :) I've stuffed around with it for 4 hours.
Had 'nuff.

Just to throw my 2 pennys worth in.. i too get the same problems as
the revd Leonard.
*most* of the time (AFAIK) its all working ok, then without any
changes i start to get the relay denied errors.
I am changing my customers SMTP to match their dialup as and when
they call me to complain.
Only about a hundred customers to get though :-(
