RE: [cobalt-users] WebLog on Raq4

Kai, Can this be a permission problem. The log file has only 640. I can't
change as a site admin the permisin to allow all write etc. I suspect it is
a permission/security issue otherwise I couldn't get the stats on other VS i
have on this server. Isa.

If you could post the errors i can see if i can help.

I simply: rm -rf /home/sites/*/web/stats
to get rid of webalizer
then i did the same with /home/sites/site1/log/web.log
and created a clean one.. u will have to make sure the permissions are the
same
i went into /var/log/httpd/access and cleared that
then i waited a few hours and ran /etc/cron.daily/logrotate
and then ran /etc/cron.daily/webalizer.pl

and it worked. i did this by trial and error.. had a few problems though.
post the error that you get. it might be something simple.

Kai, I am having problems with my webalizer. It stopped running on most
virtual sites except one. I it might be after I updated to
RaQ4-Webalizer-2.01.6-3.pkg about 2 weeks ago. I can just use it on one vs.
I tried what it says on the pkgmaster.com but it doesn't work. The commands
there give some permission errors.

What exactly you did? Since I am not a Linux person, i am hesitant to try
deleting or adding anything.

Isa.

What's the URL. I might give it a go.

I had major issues with webalizer for a LONG time. I didn't use it for
months. Last week i fixed all my problems.
I erased webalizer, erased the /log directory in every virtual site, cleared
the access log and started from scratch.
i re-created all the log directories and then ran /etc/cron.daily/rotatelogs
so that every sites web.log file had been recreated
i then ran /etc/cron.daily/webalizer.pl and BINGO. All was good. This took
me about 3 days to finally fix.

I don't like webalizer much at all. i wouldnt mind www.openstats.net but im
not really savvy with the raqs and had issues installing it.

Kai.

Just a quick question: has anybody installed the WebLog statistics package
on the RaQ successfully? I am trying to replace my totally buggy Webalizer.
