The problem is:
His domains are hosted on my server and he uses my pop services to receive
all his email.
His ISP account does not allow mail to be sent through their SMTP servers if
the domain name is not hosted by them, he can send email through their
server if the from address is 'hisaccount@xxxxxxx' but if he uses his domain
as the from address the mail is bounced. There is nothing we can do about
that other than change his ISP but that is not an option due to other
benefits that cannot be obtained at the moment from anywhere else.
So we have had his mail routing through my server since the start of last
year with no problems. After some updates were put on last year we started
getting these problems. Even though the pop before relay option is not
checked it still seems to require that this is done, it sometimes denies
relaying even if they have just collected email.
If I enable pop before relaying it works fine.
So the question is, does the cobalt force the use of pop before relaying, if
not why can I not relay mail without it?
