The excess heat might cause something else like the mainboard to fail as
well if it gets to hot in there.
Might be worth placing a few of those temperature check strips in the case,
these record the max temp they have been exposed to.
Not sure where you get them from, we were given a big pack by Intel for
checking system designs on early Pentium solutions.
