Re: [cobalt-users] Goodbye Carrie

I see Carrie has suspended adding new customers while she migrates all her
customers off her Cobalt RaQ's.

Goodbye Carrie, we have been missing your knowledge here. At least there
are the archives.

Frankly, we have Sun/Cobalt to thank for this. Carrie and I are at the same host and this host is a huge volume dealer.. He used to be a huge volume dealer with Cobalt products. They have seen fit to keep their pricing outside his boundries and he has all but abandonded them as a result.

What could have been!

I too may eventually abandon the Cobalt platform if the XTR does not become available at that host at a competitive price.

Cobalt really did open up the dedicated server industry to "newbies" like myself and others and now they seem bent on losing their position.

It really is too bad in my eyes. I like the platform, the ease of adding new hosts is hard to beat and I'm used to being spoon fed my updates in .pkg form..

But. If I need greater performance than a 450mhz machine.. at an affordable price.. where else can I look?
