Hi Chris,

I guess I have been here long enough that I can officially welcome you! Glad
to have you onboard.

You'll find these things to be a blessing and a curse, but coming from a MS
environment, I can tell you they have definitely helped me make the
migration to Linux.

That being said, be sure to join the security list, and if your box is in
production:

1) disable telnet

2) install openssh

3) make sure all the latest patches from Sun are installed (but be careful
with OS-Release2!)

4) install a self signed SSL cert on your admin GUI

5) install a suite of security tools: IPChains, Portsentry, logcheck,
tripwire, etc.

This is just a start, but an absolute necessity. If you need help, contact
me offlist, I'll refer you to some folks who can do the above for you ASAP.
