[cobalt-users] POP before SMTP Behavior

Something that I, and at least one other list member, have noticed. On
some RaQ4's, regardless whether POP before SMTP in the email control
panel is checked or not, it's running. On my recently rented RaQ4 it was
not checked, yet I discovered that the server was responding with the
"Relaying denied. Please check your mail first" message." Removing my IP
from the list of IPs allowed to relay, it would still relay for me. I
changed the window to 1 minute and sure enough it would stop letting me
relay, but would again for 1 minute after I checked my mail. I then
checked the box to "enable" POP before SMTP, saved changes. I unchecked
the box, saved changes again and finally, it's turned off. Now the
server only replies "Relaying denied" with no warning to check your mail
first.

Another list member tried this on their server with no luck. POP before
SMTP remains turned on regardless of what was done via the GUI. I'm not
sure if this is a common bug.
