I thought I pointed the following before, but perhaps I didn't. The -n flag
on ls returns uids and gids instead of user names and group names. If
unsure you can do something along the lines of "ls -nl", then check the uids
in /etc/passwd and the gids in /etc/group.

Well, in Brandon's case it was a permissions issue so doing what you suggest
wouldn't really tell you anything. <g> Of course, this was all asked and
answered on-list a day before you sent your post. You might want to
consider reading a few messages ahead in a thread before responding. I'm
afraid this behavior is starting to become habit forming. I know, I
know...you're hundreds of emails behind, you don't read them all... ;P Have
