I've got a problem that I've discovered on my RaQ4r with sendmail.
There are a few sites that I host only the web pages for on the Cobalt box,
and run the mail elsewhere. I do not run DNS on the cobalt box.
Server "A" runs my DNS, Server "B" is my mail server, and the web site is
hosted on my RaQ4r.
The MX record for domain.com points to Server "B".
The site in question is set up with:
Host name: www
Domain name: domain.com
This results in a local-host-names entry of: www.domain.com
I have an account of support@xxxxxxxxxx which resides on Server "B". There
are no e-mail accounts for domain.com on the Cobalt box.
There is an account on the Cobalt box of support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx that
that has a virtusertable entry of:
support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx support
When I generate a message either from a web form, the command line, or
another domain using smtp to the Cobalt box, and send it to
support@xxxxxxxxxx it gets delivered to the support account which belongs
to another domain (the one from the virtusertable entry above).
This is causing a problem since mail destined for domain.com is ending up in
accounts that belong to anotherdoman.com
Has anybody seen this behavior before or know of a way to correct this?
My first thought was to add a mailertable entry from domain.com and point it
to Server "B", but it doesn't look like that feature is enabled on the
Cobalt box.
