Hello Michael,
MA> I don't know about anyone else but I am quite sick of this nonsense.
me too excuse me if i don't take a kicking without kicking back. study
the past post and see who became belligerent, when i asked a question.
MA> becoming a SPAM relay point. Turn on POP-Before-SMTP and in the e-mail
MA> control panel in the Cobalt GUI, clear all entries from the "Relay for
MA> the following Hosts/Domains" EXCEPT your ip address or addresses.
sir my raq4 does not have a setting that says turn on pop before smtp
at least not in the email control panel, i have looked elsewhere but
to no avail. i have set the relay to my local ip's like you said but i
am puzzled where this pop before smtp setting is in the gui?
MA> With all that being said... PLEASE change your attitude or go away!
didn't have an attitude till i got attacked, mr. (now)fellow vendor.
we can safely assume anyone who attacks from here on out is a vendor.
MA> There are many very hard working and dedicated folks that frequent this
MA> mailing list and Jeff is among the elite of that group.
ah yes he made it perfectly clear he is the elite of the group. how
could i miss that? really anyone could have recognized that, fall off
a log. i even said i might have used him if it were not for the aroma
of all that baloney.
MA>Many of us that
MA> bought Raq's with little idea what we were buying and have learned SO
MA> MUCH from him and the others here.
agreed i know now more than i did, even if i got a black eye from you
vendors piling up on me.
MA>I bought my first Raq3 almost 2
MA> years ago and I am actually a competent SysAdmin for my clients due
MA> mostly to the great help I find around here.
good for you - need a job and can be civil to your employer? call me.

ps so am i missing this setting? for the pop before smtp?
also i can find how to export the log files for sites but how do you
export the logs for the home site or in other words the main system
logs? the ones which tell the whole server traffic?
thanks you guys - i will try and be more civil and tolerate the flying
bullets better now that i have my vest and helmet on. ;-)
pss using thebat email client i found that i have to send email using
an att cable connection and account on one nic. then set the incoming
mail as the raq server. i have all that working with pop before smtp
just fine but i think i have discovered that if you are your own isp
and you are not sending and receiving email directly on the same
server that is serving the email. you are screwed, cause the only way
you can use another machine on the network to mail out is to enable
(here's that bad word) relay. without relay you have to use a isp to
send mail, though you can receive mail whoopee.
