RE: [cobalt-users] OpenSRS

I am trying to install OpenSRS on my RAQ3. I have searched the archives and there has been some discussion of OpenSRS, but it was inconclusive. Some people had said that they had installed it, other reported problems and it didn't seem as if there were follow-up solutions.

I have set up the scripts and went to the verify_install.cgi page where it tells you what is installed. It says it can't find storable, which I assume refers to the XML::Parser module. The XML::Parser version installed is 2.26, the OpenSRS manual says you need minimum 2.28, so this is probably the problem. However, in my archive search someone found that upgrading XML breaks the Cobalt GUI, since it needs the 2.26 version. That person was forced to go back to 2.26 to correct the problem.

So does this mean OpenSRS cannot be installed on my RAQ3? For those that have successfully installed it, could you let me know what you did and how you got around this?

Thanks!

Hi,
I have OpenSRS installed on my RAQ3 - if you want to chat offllist - happy to help - but one of the problems is that storable.pm is a sep module - not part of the XML::parser mod ( really needs perl5.6.1 to run properly - especially oif you want multi lingual domains - can be run on std perl though if you are not using RACE I believe.)

I have installed a parallel 5.6.1 and it works fine, also I am using XML::Parser 2.26 - no probs - I have recently upgraded to the SF version of OpenSRS - works well

cheers
