Yep. Moving /usr is not the wisest thing to do. Lots of system stuff
lives in there, and you've now "lost" it as far as the system is
concerned...

To free up space, you can move individual 3rd party stuff into
/home/whatever and symlink to /usr/local/whatever, but wholesale moving
of system directories is a definite no-no.
