[cobalt-users] OT (somewhat) - NS IP Updates w/ NetSol

>Other registers which maintain domains that are

>change each and every domain name.

You know I actually resolved myself to doing this by
hand and started converting them over back in Dec. I
managed to get through a hundred or so, updating each
one manually in batches of 5-10. Of course it
generated a lot of cries of curiosity from the domain
owners once they received the flag messages sent out
from NetSol regarding changes to the record(s), but it
was the only thing I could think of since it was clear
nothing was updating at NetSol without intervention.

But as sad and as crazy as it sounds even after all
that work, each record reverted back to the old IP
addy last week on every single record I previously
changed by hand. It happened after my last email to
NetSol regarding this issue, and sure enough 3-4 days
later every single record I had previously updated
with the correct IP by hand, suddenly reversed and
reverted back to the old IP once again. The only thing
I can think of is that NetSol simply screwed it up
again (manually) by updating their DB again with the
old IP which was noted in the email message I sent to
them regarding the issue.

>Quite simply, as long as the root servers have the
>correct information you are good to go regardless
>of how the information in each individual
>registers database may appear.

Ohhh, your words bring comfort to quell my NetSol
tormented soul... I guess I could have turned off the
primary and run a little test, but it never occurred
to me that it might still work for those domain
(NetSol) records still reflecting the old IP addy.
Good to hear, I'll sleep better knowing all is well. Thanks!
