The problem I am running into is that now that I have this setup, anytime I
try to send an email to the domain setup with the above or the domain sends
an email to me...I get the following error:
Server Response: '554 rewrite: excessive recursion (max 50), ruleset 3'. It
looks like it is getting in and then bouncing around because >of the
AliasMatch. I have not setup any DNS records on the system yet >as the
customer has not moved to my server yet...I am just getting >it ready.
Could this be the cause? Do I need to add the DNS records >now and point
them to their current host until the move?
I don't know if it's directly related, but I found that if a RAQ has no DNS
records for domains on the server (DNS being handled by other servers) that
this causes problems with the e-mail. Like you say, mail seems to bounce
around and sometimes, if mail is supposed to forward, it keeps forwarding
the same message over and over. So rather than try to figure this out I
just decided to enter DNS records for domains on each server. This requires
extra work, since DNS has to be entered on the actual DNS servers as well
the machine hosting the site. I'm sure there is an easier way of going
about this, but I haven't had time to figure it out. So I would just go
ahead and do the DNS entries.
