[cobalt-users] Qube 2 ISDN

Dear All,

I have had a Qube 2 for a few months now and have never been able to get it
to dial out to my ISP by using either a normal analogue external modem or an
internal and external isdn modem. I have tried using the pkg file on the
nl.pkg.cobalt.com site isdn28002.3intl.pkg using a hfc internal isdn modem
but cannot get anything to work. I tried to go into the modem part and
change the modem setting to dial on demand but it comes back telling me I do
not have any permission to do so. I get the isdn section coming up but it
tells me no adaptor was found so there is nothing I can alter to configure
it. I have also two external isdn modems that I have been trying: Asuscom
isdnlink ta and an Elsa Microlink isdn/tlpro but again without success. On
the Elsa I get the s1 led lighting up for about 2 seconds and then dropping
again. It tells me that it is dialling the number and then goes to idle and
then no connect. I would dearly love to be able to get this to work as I
would like to configure it to collect my email from my ISP but I am slowly
getting frustrated as nothing seems to work.

Please could someone help me with ideas as to how I can get an internal isdn
modem and/or the external modems to work properly on the Qube 2. I have all
updates/patches installed. I have contacted sun support but was told to
contact Professional services for a fee. I did not see why I would need
Professional Services for a support problem but who am I.

I would be very grateful for any input that anyone could offer.

Thanks to All.

Kind Regards,

Ken
