Same here. Having non-techie people do port forwarding and tunneling
is... well you know. I came across the following solution which allow
people to use their own FTP client (can be an FTP client or any
embedded FTP client), but they have to install something free (similar
to a proxy) on their machine. Only pbm I encountered, no Mac client as
of today (but Mac client still can FTP, and this could be solved by
MacOS X), and because of this I didn't install. You might want to have
a look (and let us know how it goes):
