Re: [cobalt-users] Setting a Seconday DNS Server - Help Please

Hey,
i am pretty sure about this...dns is like where ure
name is like say the ip provided for dns1 is down, it
automatically points to the ip provided for dns2...so
if the backup server (dns2) holds a totally different
site for, say, domain.com, when the primary server
(dns1) is rebooted, server fails or whatever, the site
domain.com gets pointed to dns2...its somethin like a
map...
dns however does not do ANY data transfer
automatically by itself. but there are lots of
programs which do this for u. however, i must warn u,
its not easy installing these programs. i mean, my
server has crashed once after installing one of them.
and once bitten twice shy so i never tried it again.
sorry for the long content if i bored ....
