Sounds like a typical Samba problem.


First of all. Make sure you have specified the correct workgroup to use.
Secondly, ensure that you have done the following;

1) Rebooted Windows ME to ensure IT isn't causing the problems.
2) Enabled encrypted passwords on Samba (or maybe disabling them on the
Windows box if it only a LAN)

They are the general problems, if you have any problems I can step in and
