Guys - As you know I am new to this list. I am usually not very vocal on a
listserv (and always wonder how active posters manage to keep up.) I have
also mentioned that I am new to my own host (and dns.) How to explain? If I
wasn't doing this I wouldn't be facing these issues - I am doing this to
learn... The issues are the learning curve. The problem defines what needs
to be learnt. Sometimes solving the problem requires vast amounts of
knowledge and skill way beyond anything a student can learn in a short
period of time. In these instances it is great to have a helping hand (or
even a mentor.)
Wanted to say a deep thank-you to all who have provided help in my dns
issues. And a special note to Jeff regarding finances: sorry, always get
upset when things get reduced to money. Really do appreciate all the help
and pointers.
Now that's been said: Have to raise a gory detail (sorry.) Have been
involved in active sites since 96. I/we have never been hacked. I find it
too convenient that I am no sooner involved in this list than our servers
are hacked and gutted.
I have not spent enough time on this list to learn etiquette or its 'way' -
(pressing problems.) If whoever hacked our machines is reading this all I
can say is - The karmic wheel always seeks balance.
To everybody else - apologies if this is completely out of order.
best wishes,
Patrick.
