I think you could use procmail, when I was at Cobalt we had the same
problem after being bought by Sun (well actually that was the least
of our problems) but we ended up with a solution that forwarded the
mail to the new account and replied with a message that the users
account had now moved to a new address but that the mail had been
automagically forwarded.
I know Taco reads this list and he set-up the European set up so
maybe he will reply with the method other than that have a hunt for
thom at baltimoreend (I think) as he done some procmail stuff and set
up the cobalt web ring
hope this gives you some pointers
