through the vendor, usually. or directly to nominet.

for simplicity, you might want to transfer the domains to a third 
party like domainmonger.com and handle the dns either through them or 
with your own nameservers.

It is possible to become a tag holder in your own right and set up an 
account with nominet directly, but there's a lot of bureaucracy to 
negotiate.
