Unfortunately, I just but a new RAQ4 (sitting in my
home/office closet) and will be colocating at a local facility now. I need
to move this commercial boxes contents to the new one as smoothly as
possible. Currently running the new RAQ in-house on an internal router until
it goes colo.
Really concerned about a smooth transfer. I don't want to spend two weeks
through Christmas getting the box in perfect running order... any advice on
a smooth transfer this time?
Best regards,

Troy - I just went through a transfer a little over a month ago (Raq3 at a
Colo moving to a Raq4 locally). I used RaqBackUp.sh (which uses CMU) and it
took me about a day to move 90 sites and 30 databases (RaqBackUp.sh handles
MySQL as well as long as you're current on both boxes).
Thanks to a script kiddie I had the fun of manually restoring the Raq3 at
the beginning of 2001. It took me about 3 days to get everything reloaded,
and then another 4 days to get it all configured correctly.
CMU did leave some things undone, but I read the faq (and the notes here)
and I was prepared for the manual stuff. The most annoying thing was having
to rebuild all of my ChiliSoft connections, but that only took about an hour
because I took the time to print off all of my database definitions from the
status screens. (OK, 1.5 hours counting printing the stuff off).
I was pleasantly surprised to find that, since I was going to a new box, it
pretty much left my Site## structure in place (a big concern because I use
the File Upload component in ChiliSoft quite often, and I hardcode a
physical path instead of walking up the directory). It also set other
permissions properly (CGI, etc.)
No, it ain't perfect, but it beats doing it all manually.
Good Luck!
